Malacca, Day 1

The frustrating part about our journey from Penang to Malacca was the dodgy, unsystematic treatment the coach company put us through. We hopped from one bus to another, and was issued a second ticket from a different company, everything simply didn't seem right and the price we paid for our ticket - completely unjustified. After nearly another 10 hours on the road (ridiculous, considering we took the same amount of time to travel to Penang from Singapore), we arrived at Malacca in the evening feeling hungry and too exhausted to be any more pissed and complacent. I remember feeling like my legs would give way any time and was ready to pass out, furthermore my recovering cough came back with a vengeance and to top that, I had a throbbing headache from the bus ride. The only consolation I could think of then was the presence of M's parents, who decided to drive up to Malacca for a short weekend trip as well. This meant, we could just slump our heavy selves at the back seat of the car and be driven safely and comfortably without dealing with rude drivers and their inconsistency.

After a fulfilling dinner, M and I took a stroll around to bask in the weekend atmosphere. That night seemed so beautiful and I felt somewhat relieved. I cannot remember the last time I was in Malacca before I made this trip out,  probably a single digit age, but I definitely do not recall it the way I experienced that very quaint Friday night.
