M E M O R Y B A N K - M O R I O K A from COREY on Vimeo.

I arrived at Morioka during lunch time, spent a while figuring which exit to take at the train station and bought a bottle of apple juice before heading to my accommodation. I only had a day to spend in this city, and instead of getting lost in little lanes and peering through windows of small quaint shops, I wanted to feel the chilly weather underneath trees. Mountain air is spectacular.

Somehow, I have fondness for this city without even a reason for it. Nothing outstanding in particular happened, apart from gulping down 62 bowls of delicious Soba. Yet, when I left the following morning, there was a strange tug in my heart.

Maybe it was the grand view of Mt. Iwate amongst man-made concrete buildings hinting at the sensation of harmonious living - something I long for in my own city. An unwavering mountain to admire, to find hope in when all else below feels like chaos.
